Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s controversial views on capitalism have made her a target of both Republicans and Democrats, who have also balked at her disagreement with moderate politics.

“We’ve become so cynical, that we view ‘meh,’ or ‘eh’ ‘ we view cynicism as an intellectually superior attitude,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We view ambition as youthful naivete when … the greatest things we have ever accomplished as a society have been ambitious acts of visions.”

Ocasio-Cortez and top aide should be investigated for possible campaign finance violations

The Democrat lawmaker denies a FEC complaint that her chief of staff funneled nearly $1 million in campaign cash to his own firm.

An investigation is needed to determine if socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the media magnet on the far-left fringe of the Democratic Party, has broken federal campaign finance laws. If convicted of criminal conduct, she could get up to five years in prison for each violation.

The accusations against Ocasio-Cortez are ironic because she has criticized the use of untraceable money in political campaigns and portrayed herself as a champion of campaign finance reform. Her Twitter biography says she is ‘100% people funded, no corporate PAC $.’

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on ‘Heartbreaking’ ICE Setback at SXSW: ‘It Makes Me Furious’

‘Since when did it become the moderate position in America to continue caging children?’ the congresswoman asked at SXSW, where she earned a standing ovation.

‘We do idolize cynicism as an intellectually superior position. We’re like, ‘The child in me that believes we can have healthcare as a human right’and I don’t think we should belittle our beliefs anymore! We’re capable of so much as a country and we’re capable of so much more than what we’re doing right now.’

To illustrate her points about incrementalism, Ocasio-Cortez referenced her position on ICE’namely that, ‘I don’t believe that an agency that systematically and repeatedly violates human rights can be reformed.’ She talked about a Republican amendment giving more power to ICE that recently ‘slipped through,’ and how she ‘got a lot of heat [in the party] for being furious about it.’
