Friday’s flooding across York County prompts new interest in filing damage reports

The York County Office of Emergency Management is asking property owners to file damage reports in an attempt to get financial help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Complete story. This information was provided.

Residents can report damage from the rain storms between July 21-27 and Aug. 1-15, and on Aug. 31, by visiting the county’s user-friendly damage reporting tool, accessible on the county’s homepage.

The county reports damage to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, PEMA, which then requests a federal disaster declaration. While there is no official financial figure serving as a threshold for federal assistance, PEMA is close to reaching a level that would make it easier for FEMA to make a federal declaration.

Groped by celeb chef?

A Massachusetts woman says in a lawsuit filed against Mario Batali that the celebrity chef forcibly kissed her and groped her in a Boston restaurant in 2017.

According to media reports, the suit filed Wednesday in Superior Court in Boston seeks unspecified damages for "severe emotional distress" including anxiety and self-doubt.

The suit alleges that the 28-year-old woman spotted Batali in the restaurant in April 2017 and tried to take a photo. The suit says Batali invited her to take a selfie with him then, without asking for permission, repeatedly kissed her face, rubbed her breasts, grabbed her buttocks and put his hands between her legs.
