[ Here Are All the Trump Sycophants Who Got Banned From Social Media After the Capitol Riot ]

As a reward for his efforts, social media sites which theoretically could have punished the president or his wild mob at pretty much any time in the past few years if not for cowardice’perhaps when he called for Muslims to be banned from the country, or lied to the public about the novel coronavirus, or spread lies about voter fraud, or any other number of rule violations’have finally gotten irritated enough to do something about it. Trump is now permanently suspended from Twitter, his Facebook account is locked down, and he’s been banned from Snapchat, TikTok, and Pinterest.

That leaves Trump with few options. He can’t just take over another Twitter account; he did that and it simply resulted in @WhiteHouse, @POTUS, @TeamTrump, and even an account belonging to one his campaign’s digital directors either being subjected to new restrictions or suspended outright.

The ‘MAGA’ Civil War has Begun – Byline Times

Tens of thousands of radicalised right-wing Donald Trump loyalists descended on Washington DC on 6 January with the intent of overthrowing the US Congress and the result of a free and fair election.

In the month leading up to 6 January, ‘Storm the Capitol’ was posted more than 100,000 times in viral tweet threads that discussed taking over the Congress and outlined details for entering the building. Calls for ‘occupying the Capitol‘ with weapons were also plastered over thousands of right-wing online message boards.

The Jaffe Briefing – January 8, 2021

STATEWIDE ‘ And, now, before anyone accuses us of being anti-Trump, it is worth noting that the Republicans in the state’s Congressional delegation are not calling for his immediate impeachment. That is a positive statement for Trump, right? But we also need to note that every single Democrat in our delegation is calling for the proceedings during the waning days of his administration, NJ Globe reports. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman was the first out with an announcement on Wednesday, while other members of the delegation fell in line with announcements through last night. It is very unlikely that Trump can get booted before his term expires Jan. 20. Perhaps it’s just best to isolate him in front of a TV, with the golf channel, and McDonald’s delivered on the hour.

All Aboard the Pequod! ‘ Krebs on Security

Like countless others, I frittered away the better part of Jan. 6 doomscrolling and watching television coverage of the horrifying events unfolding in our nation’s capital, where a mob of President Trump supporters and QAnon conspiracy theorists was incited to lay siege to the U.S. Capitol. For those trying to draw meaning from the experience, might I suggest consulting the literary classic Moby Dick, which simultaneously holds clues about QAnon’s origins and offers an apt allegory about a modern-day Captain Ahab and his ill-fated obsessions.

Many have speculated that Jim Watkins, the administrator of the online message board 8chan (a.k.a. 8kun), and/or his son Ron are in fact ‘Q,’ the anonymous persona behind the QAnon conspiracy theory, which holds that President Trump is secretly working to save the world from a satanic cult of pedophiles and cannibals.
