Lady Gaga‘gave us a different rendition of the song as she took the stage to perform the A’Star Is Born hit at the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.’

The 32-year-old singer first appeared in a sparkly catsuit that had us sure she was about to channel her character Ally, but oh, were we wrong. Instead, it was 100 percent Gaga — and singer Gaga, not actress Gaga — up on that stage, back to her old tricks of belting out lyrics amid leg kicks, crazy faces and whipping her hair back and forth.’

Lady Gaga tried to turn ‘Shallow’ into a rock song at the Grammys, and fans had mixed reactions

Lady Gaga took to the Grammys 2019 stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday to perform “Shallow,” which is nominated for both record and song of the year at the Grammys this year.

Gaga ‘ sans Bradley Cooper, who sings the other part in the “A Star Is Born” duet ‘ put a glam-rock spin on the folk ballad. The pop star donned a sparkly jumpsuit, dark eye makeup, and thrashed around onstage while belting the emotional lyrics.

Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson stole the Grammy Awards show with a rocked-up performance of their’A Star Is Born breakout hit ‘Shallow.’ The track was up for four awards at tonight’s ceremony, including nods in Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

Prior to the Grammys, ‘Shallow’ took home Best Original Song at the Golden Globes. It is also up for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards, where Gaga is also a top contender for Best Actress. She will perform the song at the Oscars with co-star and director Bradley Cooper. Alongside their four nominations for ‘Shallow,’ Ronson and Gaga are also up for Best Pop Solo Performance for the stripped down version of the’Joanne title track.
