A lawyer who specialises in traffic cases has been banned from driving for for 18 months after being caught drink-driving in his Jaguar sports car.

Neal Etherington, 64, was stopped by police near his home in Hale, Greater Manchester at 22:00 GMT on 11 December.

The lawyer admitted drink-driving but claimed he was unsteady on his feet as he was getting out of a car ”six inches off the ground”.

Representing himself, Etherington told Manchester Magistrates Court: “Being ‘unsteady on my feet’ is a somewhat trite comment. Drink-driving 68-year-old banned and fined

AN INNERLEITHEN pensioner has been banned from the road for 12 months after admitting driving while almost four times the legal alcohol limit.

Sixty eight year old Ronald Davidson of Walker Street, pleaded guilty to driving on the A72 at Cardrona with a breath/alcohol count of 80 microgrammes – the legal limit being 22 – on November 30.

Judge slashes Katie Price’s two-year driving ban to 18 months

The mother-of-five, 41, was handed the ban in October after she crashed her bright pink Range Rover into a hedge in’Bexley, southeast London a year earlier.

Drumsna man receives conviction and ban for drink driving

Emmet Daly, Liscallyroan, Drumsna was convicted of drink driving, was disqualified from driving for a period of two years and fined ‘300 when he appeared before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court last week charged with drink driving.

Giving evidence against the defendant, Garda Tom Dooner said he was performing a checkpoint at Cortober, Carrick-on- Shannon on February 18, 2018 when he stopped a vehicle and spoke to the driver, Emmet Daly.
