After defeating the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions in Japan last week, Asuka & Kairi Sane are looking for their title opportunity, but a supposed illness prevents Billie Kay & Peyton Royce from granting it.

Paige Voices Her Frustration Over the Kabuki Warriors Not Being Used by WWE

After her position as SmackDown general manager was taken away at the end of 2018, Paige re-emerged on WWE television two weeks after WrestleMania 35 as the manager of a new tag team ‘ former NXT and SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka and new NXT call-up Kairi Sane.

Known as the Kabuki Warriors, the pair beat the team of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in their second match as a duo on the May 14 episode of SmackDown Live. But since then the pair have only ever wrestled in dark matches, leaving fans to wonder why the pair were shelved after a strong introduction.

In a new interview with The Sun over the weekend, Paige voiced her frustration over the team not being utilized on television.

Paige recently spoke with The Sun to promote the DVD release of WWE Studios’ ‘Fighting with My Family’ movie and was asked about Vince McMahon’s reaction to the film.

‘I don’t know what Vince’s reaction to it was. But if you get a big hug from Vince McMahon you’re doing well. I saw him last week and he gave me a big hug and said, ‘I’m very happy for you.’ I don’t know it that’s about the movie or the fact that I’m healthy. Women’s Tag Title Match Announced For WWE SmackDown Live, Peyton Royce Bachelorette Party Photos

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIConics will finally defend their titles against The Kabuki Warriors, Kairi Sane & Asuka, on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live from the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.

The Kabuki Warriors have been challenging The IIConics for a title match since early June. Asuka & Sane went on to defeat The IIconics in a non-title match in Tokyo, Japan in late June to earn a future title shot. The Kabuki Warriors approached The IIConics last week on SmackDown Live to schedule the match, however Billie Kay faked an illness to get out of it.

They racked up victories over the reigning tag team champions, the Australian duo of The IIconics, in Singapore and subsequently in Tokyo, to earn the opportunity to face them in the future for the titles.

Asuka, a former NXT Women’s champion whose undefeated streak lasted a staggering 914 days, recalled the heavy weight of expectation on her. After all, she was the first Japanese female wrestler signed by WWE since Bull Nakano in 1994.
