The Covidiocy Chronicles: Lewis Hamilton, Bill Gates and the great vaccine conspiracy

Hamilton twice shared a video with his 18.3 million Instagram followers which shows tech billionaire Gates being interviewed about progress on developing a vaccine. In the footage, Gates rejects claims that vaccine tests have caused side-effects, and rubbishes the baseless theory that he plans to embed tracking microchips into the jab. The caption on the clip reads: ‘I remember when I told my first lie.’

Numerous followers criticised Hamilton for spreading ‘anti-vax nonsense’ and ‘irresponsible misinformation’, and he deleted the post from his Instagram Stories page. He has since insisted he was ‘misinterpreted’ ‘ oh, so it’s our fault? ‘ and that he has ‘clarified his thoughts’. A pair of phrases straight out of the non-apology playbook.’
